My IPTL Season 2 Experience

2015 is the year 2 of the International Premiere Tennis League. We never missed to watch IPTL since it started last year. My mother and I are Tennis enthusiasts. My mother was really excite for Season 2 because Rafael Nadal came to play here in Manila and I was glad too although my number one idol is Novak Djokovic and I am really praying, hoping and wishing that Novak will play here in Manila next year! *cross fingers*.

 Day 1- December 6, 2015
I won a jacket and a cap from Manila Bulletin!

With Belinda Bencic of Singapore Slammers
Day 2 - December 7, 2015
The day where Rafa Nadal played in Manila! All of the fans were cheering for Rafa when he enters Mall of Asia Arena. He won 2 games and it was his first 2 games of the season.
My mother was not satisfied seeing Nadal played from our seats. She wanted to have his autograph and picture with him. We tried our luck in the contest of IPTL entitled #MyIPTLSeat. I posted selfies in Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with the #MyIPTLseat and hope for the best. It's 2nd day and we received nothing from IPTL. We tried to go to City of Dreams where the players are staying but no luck.
Day 3 - December 8, 2015
I almost gave up on the final day of IPTL here in Manila because we've been trying our luck for the past two days and still got nothing. We are 1 hour late before we got to MOA arena. While watching the game, there's an unknown number calling... and guess who?! It's Sham from IPTL saying that we won the #MyIPTLseat contest! I was overjoyed. My happiness that time were priceless. We had the chance of a lifetime that other Tennis enthusiasts wants!
With Tony Nadal, the coach/uncle of Rafael Nadal
 With Rohan Bopanna
 With Richard Gasquet

 With Goran Ivanisevic
Rafael Nadal signing my mother's huge picture of him!
I'm so happy for my mother! With Rafael Nadal
 With Milos Raonic

 With the magician, Fabrice Santoro
 With Treat Huey
We are truly grateful for Sham for assisting us and Ella Ling for the photos! I was nice meeting you!
Our two days of trying our best to meet the IPTL stars are worth it. Thank you very much IPTL for this unforgettable experience.

What To Do & Not To Do in the Senate of the Philippines

It's my Junior year in college and this is the time where the climax of a college student happens! As a Broadcast Journalism student, we are required to do news packages where we need to cover stories base on what beat (topic) the professor will assign to us.

Our first news package beat was National/Politics. Since it's Politics, we decided to search for the schedule of hearings in the Senate of the Philippines. We have the schedule, venue and names of the senators and committees but we don't have any idea how to go there and what to do and not to do when attending a hearing. So I thought that i should write about this for you guys!

How to go to Senate of the Philippines
If you're from Tagaytay or Cavite:
  • In Emilio Aguinaldo H-way, take a bus going to Pasay or Baclaran.
  • Go to Baclaran and walk near to Mc Donald's.
  • In front of Mc Donald's, there's an orange cab going to the Senate.
  • Ride the cab and tell the driver to drop you near the Senate.
CLICK THIS LINK to know another way on how to go to the Senate of the Philippines.

To Do & Not To Do inside the Senate of the Philippines
  • Come early. You don't want to make a scene entering the hall and Senators, Congressman and Media people are looking at you.
  • Bring your Student ID or Media press ID. This will be your life savior! Trust me.
  • Wear appropriate clothes. It's better if you wear Business clothes like slacks, leather shoes and blazer.
  • Do not wear rubber shoes.
  • Use the left elevator. The right elevator is for Senators and Staff.
  • Learn to greet the guards and other staff inside. Simple Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Thank you will do.
There you go guys! I hope that this post helped you. Let me know your reaction and questions (if you have any). You can reach me here.

Life of a Carwasher

MY PARTICIPANT OBSERVATION AS A CARWASH GIRL

Our Prelim requirement for our Sociology subject is putting ourselves to the shoes of others and experience other life. Last July 17, 2015, My groupmates/friends (Maxine Arroyo, Harlene Delgado and Queen Romilla)  and I went to Casimiro, Laspinas. That day is a holiday in Philippines so we took this free day to experience what it’s like to be a carwash girl. Our friends Justin Valencia and Dan Vinaviles helped us to have a one day job in a carwash business. The night before this day, we prepared what clothes we are going to wear. Cap, big shirt, jersey shorts and slippers and we’re ready to go!

We started cleaning cars by 11:30 in the morning. Honestly, I was really excited to do this because I just love this kind of adventures and I like challenging myself. I didn’t think that I need to do this because of the grade in my Sociology project. The first car we washed is a white Hyundai Elantra. The two original carwash boys taught us first in using the different equipment in washing the cars then we already did their job. The steps are simple, hose the car with plain water including the wheels or tires, hose it with car soap, brush the wheels, tires sidewalls, and their mugs, rub the entire car with sponge starting at the top, rinse the entire body’s car with hose then dry the vehicle with dry towels and there’s a huge blower for drying the remaining drops of water.. It’s simple but when you’re the one doing it, it’s not easy. You need to clean, brush and scrub every corner or the car.
The second car that we washed is a black Mitsubishi Galant Super Saloon. After those 2 straight cars that we washed, we took a break and luckily for us there’s no next customer so we were able to eat our lunch. The third car is a white Honda Brio. We’re really exhausted in the last car that we washed.
Putting ourselves on the shoes of others will help us understand people. I learned that Patience is important. In this kind of business, there will be a day that only few customers will come. So workers should have the patience in waiting for customers. If we learn the art of waiting, good things will come to us. In life, waiting is one of the hardest things to do but we need to have a good attitude while waiting. After this experience, I finally realized that earning money is difficult. Whether it’s a carwash boy, janitor, caregiver, maid, etc we should not judge them. There’s always a reason why they are doing that. Judging people does not define who they are but it only defines who you are. I learn to appreciate especially the little things. We need to listen in order for us to understand. We need to understand in order for us to learn. I listened to every word the two carwash boys are teaching me. Through listening, I was able to do the job. It made me realize that I am very lucky to have this kind of life. Lastly, I learned to be content and happy. Being content and happy in life are the most precious thing that we could have. Being content doesn’t mean we don’t desire for more, it only means that we are thankful for what we have and have the patience for what’s to come.
We took this experience as fun as we can and we just enjoyed it. I really embraced the job in cleaning and washing somebody’s car. My parents told me to wash our cars because of this. At the end of the day, I was really proud of myself because I fulfilled and helped the two carwash boys and it’s my simple gift to them in taking their jobs and they really need that break.

Discover the Beauty of Calaguas Island

Philippines is known for their beautiful beaches like Boracay, El Nido and Coron Palawan but there are lot of beaches in our country that deserves to be known. In Bicol Region, there's this island that you must visit, the Calaguas Island located in Camarines Norte. It's a 9 hour drive from Manila.

Before you can reach the island, you need to take a 2 hour boat ride from Paracale, Camarines Norte. When you reached your destination, you'll be astound how clear the water is and fall in love with the warm and white sand of Calaguas.
In the Island, there's no mobile service and internet connection. If you really desire a peaceful place that you can relieve your stress and if you wish to be far away from those paper works, this is the perfect place to be.
Isn't the best feeling? You're in peaceful place, hearing the waves of the ocean, seeing the blaze of the sun and having fun with the people you love.
Meet my girls! Kianna, Gelian and Joselle. We really had a great time together. Unfortunately, we're not complete. We really missed our tropa! (FHH). Well, there's always a next time! We really hope that we will be complete on our next summer trip!
Swimming is not the only thing that you can do in Calaguas. You can go hiking too! There are many mini islands in Calaguas. We went to the top of Tinaga Island. Don't worry it's just a 10 minute hike.

At the top of the hill, there's a mobile service (well in some parts). You can relax at the top because there are Bahay Kubos and Duyan.

If you love watching sunset, go to the end of the island and witness the stunning sunset.

I'm overjoyed and thankful because i had the opportunity to discover the beautiful island of Calaguas. What are you waiting for? Book now for this kind of trip and be a Beachaholic! It is indeed that life is always better at the beach.

I first saw him in his latest Korean Drama "Fated to Love You". What I like about him is his wittiness and he's laugh is crazy. Look at the photo above! He can rock any hair styles.

4. Choi Jin-hyuk
I also saw him in "Fated to Love You" and "The Heirs". Then I searched some of his Korean Dramas like "Emergency Couple". I watched that K-Drama and it was really good! You guys should check it out. What I like about him is his smile! When he smiles, I cannot see his eyes. (HAHA and it's cute)

3. Song Seung Heon
Even though I cannot pronounce his name correctly, I just love him! I saw him in one of my favorite Korean Drama "My Princess". Ohh, we have the same birth month! (October).
